Recruiting &
Membership Information
Have you thought of trying to find a way to become an active member of
the community and develop new friendships, while getting a highly
rewarding experience? We have a way you can do this.
The Spring Green Ambulance is looking for someone like you!
Our department consists of 20 professional volunteer members.
In becoming a member of our department, you will be asked to enroll in
a basic EMT course through Madison Area Technical College (MATC) or
Southwest Wisconsin Technical College (SWTC). The EMT-Basic course is a
one-semester class consisting of two-four hour classes per week.
Classes are offered in our area most times.
Members are also required to attend monthly business meetings & EMS
training every second Monday evening. Most meetings start at 7:00 P.M.
Other opportunities for members to participate include involvement in
committees such as CPR instruction, public education, recruiting and fund
raising as well as activities geared towards the public (e.g. Annual Open
House and Dance.)
We understand that everyone's schedules are different and balancing
work, family and your commitment as a volunteer is one of the challenges
you will face. We will work with you to develop a timeline to meet the
requirements of being a member. Volunteers are compensated for calls
& weekend time.
The Department is open to men and women who live or work within a 3
mile radius of the Spring Green Fire Station, so that we may effectively
respond to calls in a timely manner. Also we offer lodging for those who
live outside that area. All applicants must be at least 18 years of
age and hold a valid Wisconsin driver's license.
We hope you consider becoming a member.
We look forward to hearing from you!
